Heart disease continues to be one of the leading health concerns for both men and women in the United States. Because of this, access to cardiovascular screening, rehabilitation, education and advanced treatment services plays an important role in helping people manage their heart health and overall wellness. The Sarah Bush Lincoln Heart Center offers a variety of cardiovascular services and wellness programs designed to support patients through prevention, diagnosis, treatment, recovery and long-term disease management.

The METS team includes healthcare professionals from several specialties, including physicians, nurses, exercise physiologists, respiratory therapists, dietitians and certified diabetes educators. Together, they help participants develop exercise and wellness plans tailored to their individual health needs.

These programs use exercise training, monitoring and education to help improve breathing, increase endurance and support overall quality of life.
Living with Diabetes Program
The Heart Center also provides a Living with Diabetes program for individuals managing diabetes. Participants work one-on-one with certified diabetes educators, including a registered nurse and registered dietitian, to assess nutrition, health habits and overall wellness goals. The program is intended to help individuals better understand diabetes management and develop healthier long-term lifestyle habits.
Supporting Long-Term Health
Many of the Heart Center’s programs focus not only on treatment, but also on prevention, education and lifestyle improvement. Through screenings, rehabilitation, exercise programs and wellness education, these services are designed to help patients better understand and manage cardiovascular, pulmonary and metabolic health conditions over time.
